Asian Cinema
Asian Cinema grew out of the Asian Cinema Studies Society, an international body of scholars organized in 1984. Asian Cinema Studies Society serves as a forum for the critical study of cinema and as a networking facility for Asian cinema scholars scattered among various disciplines worldwide. These purposes are served by the convening of academic conferences (so far, in Athens [Ohio], twice and once each in New York City, Melbourne, Peterborough [Canada], Norman [Oklahoma], Jeonju [Korea], Seattle, and Beijing/Shanghai), and the issuance of a journal, Asian Cinema.
