UBC Press is looking for innovative, original scholarship in Asian Studies to add to our award-winning list. The geographic focus is primarily China and Japan, though we will consider book proposals on wide-ranging topics from other countries. While we specialise in Asian History and Politics (primarily nineteenth century onwards), we also publish books in Anthropology & Sociology, Cultural Studies, Religious Studies, and Urban Planning. We are open to and interested in newer, more interdisciplinary areas of investigation like Asian communities in diaspora, transnationalism, border studies, and colonial and post-colonial studies.
